Bad news: Your phone is dirty
Let’s get that one straight. It is probably the dirties thing you poses, and unfortunately also the thing you hold closest to your face the longest. Enjoy that information.
According to Mashable, your phone has more germs on it than the following germ-full 5 things:
Or as Philip Tierno, a microbiologist and pathologist at the New York University School of Medicine told Business insider: “studies have found many different types of bacteria and viruses on phones, but that it’s common to find bacteria that live on people’s skin, in their respiratory tract, and bacteria that live in fecal matter”.
Yep, we had the same reaction. Let’s study the hell out of that!
Good news: You are not alone
We asked 209 of you if you clean your phone, and the answers amazed us!
The question asked was “When did you last disinfect your mobile phone?” – and this is what folks have told us (Tap slices for the answer) :
In essence, no one does it. Our little survey found that a bit over half the respondents (50.7%) have not disinfected their phone in the last year and most of them never ever did.
Only a mere 21.5% of you saints out there clean their phone on a weekly basis. Good for you!
Boys will be boys
As always, it’s the boys who ruin hygiene stats for everybody.
Boys apparently are 2X as likely to never have cleaned their phone. Yuck.
Start cleaning your phone!

My position is actually with the more than 40% that are not concerned about disinfecting anyone. People don’t bother much about what they don’t see as compared to what they see.
Quite strange though, never knew about the harmful effects of not disinfecting a phone. In fact, the thought of bacteria on my phone would hardly cross my mind. There is more to a better hygiene then than just hand washing.
